5. Do I have to order over the internet?
NO, it is also possible to order via fax: (02) 4784 2442; mail: PO Box 7060 Leura NSW 2780; or over the phone: 02 4784 2442. You can download our PDF Order Form from the Order page on the website to complete your order.

6. Do I have to pay up front?
Yes. As these are custom-made artworks and very time consuming we cannot proceed without payment. If you are unhappy with the artwork on you proof we are happy to discuss any amendments. However, any amendments, aside from minor ones, may incur an additional charge. We cannot substitute photos once artwork has commenced without charging additional artwork fees. Such substitutions warrant the creation of an entirely new design, which requires several hours of time and labour and which is very different from making revisions to existing proofs.

7. What do I need to know before I send my photos to you?
You need to have decided on the artwork style you want and the size. Then we need a good quality photograph via mail or email, with face or object bigger than 5 centimetres. (Your photos are returned in perfect condition). If sending your photograph via email, scan the photos at 300 dpi (dots per inch) with the resolution at 100% of the original photo size. If saving the photo in a JPEG format please ensure it is saved at maximum quality and minimum compression.

8. How do I email or send my photos?
By email: email your photos to us along with your completed order form. You will receive a confirmation email from us once we receive your photo/s.

By regular mail: No digital photos? No problem. We can scan your photos for you at no additional charge. Just send them to us at PO Box 7060 Leura NSW 2780. Try to pack the photo so it won't bend (we recommend you put a piece of cardboard in the envelope). Please include a copy of your order form in your package, with your photo/s. As soon as we receive the photo/s, we will let you know by email or by phone. We regret we cannot be held responsible for lost photos in the mail. If you want the photo returned to a different address to the artwork delivery address, please specify on your order form. If not the photo/s will be returned to you with your KAPOW! Pop Artwork.

9. Can I order first and send a photo later?
Yes, you can, but the job cannot start obviously until we have a photo so you will need to supply a photo as soon as possible.

10. Can I have a different style from what is featured on your website?
We can definitely do special orders. Please contact us via email or phone with your request.

11. What happens if I am unhappy with my proof?
In the unlikely event of this occurring, we will endeavour to do all that we can to make changes to the proof within reason. See Do I have to pay up front?

12. Can I order an artwork as a gift for someone else?
YES. As long as you can supply us with the photo you want to use. Go through the ordering as you would if it was for yourself. Then select the delivery address for that lucky person that will receive the order.

13. Can I choose a certain colour scheme or do you pick the colours for me?
You can certainly tell us which colours you want us to use. You can even send us a photo of the room where you plan to hang it or even samples of the wall paint or upholstery fabric, so we can match the colours. Otherwise, we will choose the colours for you that we think look good with the photograph you sent to us. You will receive a preview of the design via email before we print, to make sure you are satisfied with the colours. If you do not have a strong preference we would recommend that you let us choose the colours that work best for the artwork.

14. If I can’t find what I’m looking for, can I make a custom order?
If there is anything you were thinking of and it is not available in the formats that we offer, don’t worry ask us anyway. We have tried to limit the available options so it would be easier for you to order, but we are open to ALL proposals out there, go to the contact us page and send us an email!

15. Can I send you a regular photograph?
Of course! We will scan it for you at no charge. While every effort will be made to return your photo in good condition, we cannot be responsible for any damage caused in transit. If the photo is a professional one, make sure you send the photographer's permission to use the photo.

16. What are your photo requirements?
For digital photos, email the full file size (original digital photo file), not one that has been "shrunk" for email. For regular photos that you scan yourself, scan the original at 300dpi. You should make sure that the photo you select is clear, free from shadows, and that the subject(s) face(s) is/are at least the size of a ten cent piece. If your photo doesn't meet these requirements we will let you know.

17. What photo should I send you?
The ideal picture is a headshot of the person, pet or a close up of the object. The photos that work best have the following characteristics:

• Good lighting, better when the light comes from the back of the photographer and it's facing the subject. Also, try to avoid dark shadows in the face of the subject.

• Good contrast and brightness. Make sure the photo is not under exposed (too dark) or over exposed (too bright or too white).

• In order to make the best portrait out of your photo/s, we highly recommend that you send us a good quality picture, where the face of the person will be clear and big enough.

If you prefer, you can email or send to us more than one photo and we will let you know which one works best for your portrait.

If you are sending a digital file, you need to ensure that it is of high enough resolution to ensure a crisp, clear image when printed. It is very difficult to enlarge a small photo without losing clarity and definition. As a general rule your images should be taken in TIFF format at the highest quality that your camera offers, although we will accept high quality JPEGs. The larger the size of the file, the better the quality. Anything less than a 3 mega-pixel camera is generally unsuitable for enlargements. If you are unsure about the quality of your digital photo, please email it to us for appraisal (this is a free service).

18. Can I send black and white or colour photos?
Of course, if you have an old photo you want to immortalise or an old family photo, that is not a problem. We can work with either black and white or colour photographs. Please do not send negatives!

19 If there is more than one person in the original photo is it possible to single out the person I want the artwork to be of?
Yes, we can crop the photo to work only on the person, pet or object you desire to have on the portrait. Just make sure that there are no obstructions in front of the chosen person or touching the subject.

20. What is canvas printing?
Canvas printing is a term used to describe a process by which fine art and photographs are printed on canvas.

21. What does stretched canvas mean?
First, your artwork is printed on the finest quality canvas using independently tested archival inks that will last 75 years without fading.

Then a set of stretcher bars is created specifically to the size of your canvas. First grade timber is hand selected for the stretcher bars and milled to the profile that provides the best protection and finish for your canvas.

After stretching the canvas over the bars, the back of the canvas edge is carefully taped to the frame. This gives it a very professional appearance, and further protects against dust. Finally, hooks and cord are inserted so that you can hang your print straight from the box.

22. What canvas do you use?
We use a beautiful canvas sourced from the United States. It is a 100% acid free matte cotton canvas. It is smooth, bright white and offers excellent reproduction for both photographs and fine art. Our canvas produces exceptionally dense black and vibrant colours, is water resistant and is used by thousands of artists around the world.

It is significantly heavier than the canvas being used by many of our competitors. Lighter grade canvases are generally cheaper to make, but are usually of lesser quality.

In our opinion, there is no higher quality printing canvas available anywhere in the world.

23. How long will my KAPOW! Pop Art last?
This really depends on how they are displayed. Prints on our canvas have been tested to resist noticeable fading for up to 75 years when displayed indoors and away from direct sunlight. However, exposure to fluorescent light and reflected light can reduce the life of your prints.

All of our canvas prints are coated with a high quality spray laminate that provides resistance to moisture, UV light and scuffing.

We use only the finest quality timber to make our frames. All our timber is kiln dried to reduce the possibility of shrinkage. This ensures that you get the best quality frames available.

24. Can I have more than one person in the same Pop Art portrait?
Yes, you can. However, please note that there is an additional charge of $50.00 per extra person in a Pop Art portrait that is featured on our web site and advertising as containing only one person.

25. What is your cancellation policy?
Customers who cancel their orders before work begins will not be charged, and any money paid will be refunded in full. However, due to the labour intensive and customised nature of our work, customers who cancel their orders after work has begun will forfeit any money already paid.

26. Returns
We do not offer returns on our products. Customers do have the opportunity to make amendments to digital prints at proof stage.

We will start working on your design and we will email you a proof of the finished design within 10 business days. If your portrait is damaged in transit, we will replace it and send you a new one after the courier company picks up the damaged portrait and its packaging. Seasonal orders and requests for design changes are subject to extended delivery times. We can process rush orders at an additional charge. KAPOW!
